Keli Hite McGee has been appointed as Administrator at The Surgery Center of Fairbanks, a role she will begin on October 7. Most recently, Hite McGee served as Chief Human Resources Officer at the University of Alaska.
“I am thrilled to return to healthcare, most especially to join The Surgery Center of Fairbanks,” she said, “I look forward to working with the committed team of physicians and staff in continuing to expand the innovations and exceptional services it has brought to residents of the Fairbanks-North Star Borough. The Center is providing the opportunity for residents of Interior Alaska to receive highly-advanced surgical procedures without requiring travel to Anchorage or out of state.”
Hite McGee’s background includes more than 20 years in communication, human resources, training and coaching, change management and leadership consulting with work in industries ranging from healthcare and higher education to private, state and federal organizations. Her career started as Golden Valley Electric Association’s organizational development officer, providing change management facilitation, followed by CEO of Hites Organizational Leadership & Training, where she worked with executives and organizations in the private and public sector to manage and implement change. Past healthcare roles included serving as CEO of Alaska Heart and Vascular Institute and as interim administrator for Anchorage Women’s Clinic. She has lived in Alaska for more than 25 years in communities throughout the state and is a University of Alaska Fairbanks alumni.
The Surgery Center specializes in outpatient surgery for which surgical procedures are performed and patients go home the same day. The Center is the only free-standing fully dedicated outpatient surgical facility in the Interior. Alaskan owned and operated, it specializes in patient care using modern technologies.
