Once you are scheduled for your surgery at The Surgery Center of Fairbanks (SCF), you will receive a link via text or an email from “scfairbanks.ppw01.SISComplete.cloud” asking you to complete your health history form. Please complete this as soon as possible for the nurse and anesthesia to review before your preoperative call.

Before Surgery
- Once you are scheduled for you surgery at the center you will receive a link via text or email from “scfairbanks.ppw01.SISComplete.cloud”.
- Complete your health history on line as soon as you are scheduled, so the nurse and anesthesia can review this with you a day or two before your surgery.
- A nurse from the Surgery Center of Fairbanks will call you between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm the day before your surgery with your time of arrival.
- DO NOT EAT or drink after midnight the day of surgery unless specifically instructed to do so by your physician.
- DO NOT smoke the day of surgery, including Marijuana, vaping and/or chewing tobacco.
- DO NOT TAKE anti-inflammatories, vitamins, or herbal medications including aspirin, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Nuprin, etc. 7 days before general surgery (Tylenol is okay).
- We recommend you have someone with you for 24 hours following general surgery.
- You cannot drive or take public transportation without a responsible person with you after surgery.
- Parents of children must remain at the surgery center until discharge.
- Bring your contact lens/glasses/hearing aid case so they can be removed prior to surgery and safely stored throughout the surgical experience.
- Ask your doctor if you should hold any medications, you regularly take.
- If you are taking a GLP-1 agonist or an SGL2 inhibitor please alert your surgeon as these medications must be held up to one week before surgery. (Examples: Ozympic, Wegovy, Trulicity, Rybelsus).
- If you are taking a blood thinner or anticoagulant please discuss with your surgeon when you should stop taking it.
Day of Surgery
- Shower before you come and remove all jewelry and make up. Do not use lotions, powders or oils after bathing.
- Bring your insurance cards, picture ID, a form of payment for fees if you have not done so before arrival.
- Wear clothing appropriate for your surgery, be comfortable.
- You should allow a minimum of 2 hours for your stay.
- Ask the nurse if your driver should remain at surgery center until discharge.
