The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ and Accredited Status was awarded to the Surgery Center of Fairbanks for demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and patient safety.
The facility had an unannounced full survey on March 05 – 06, 2014. Simultaneously, the Joint Commission performed a deemed status survey on behalf of the Centers for Medicare Services. That survey was also successful. Initial accreditation statuses were first achieved in March of 2011 making this the facility’s second consecutive award.
The Surgery Center of Fairbanks makes changes recommended by the Joint Commission and CMS as they are distributed. The philosophy of making those changes as soon as possible keeps the Center ready for surveys but more importantly keeps the quality of care at it’s highest level.
